Hello Willowcreek Family. This is Ms. Stewart and here is the Friday Focus message for this week. Our mission is educating, empowering and inspiring excellence. There are 10 items of interest to follow. If you miss any part of this message, visit the Willowcreek website, Peachjar or the Facebook page where it will be printed in its entirety.

Any current 6th or 7th graders interested in playing football next fall must sign up with Coach Haupt in Room D6 ASAP. Students who wish to participate in sports next year must have a physical on file dated after April 1.

Each Friday through the end of the year, weather permitting, we will have a picnic during lunches on the football field. Students may bring blankets or beach towels to sit on, and balls or Frisbees to play with. Kona Ice will be here.

Exciting news for our 8th graders: On Monday your 8th grader will receive an invitation to the 8th grade dinner dance party on May 14. This free party, which features food, memories, music and prizes will be held in the Willowcreek cafeteria from 6-8:00. Our wonderful PTO is looking for parents to help with decorations, food service and planning for prizes. We need the parents to help make this a special send off for our 8th graders. If you are willing to help or donate money or prizes, please contact Tiffany Butterfield at 219-508-7008

Our Willowcreek annual Red Cross Blood Drive will be Monday, May 6. Please mark your calendars and give the gift of life.

On Tuesday, May 14 from 6-7:30 at the Family and Youth Service Bureau in Valparaiso there will be a free workshop entitled Vaping...What parents need to know. Please call 464-9585 for more information.

Ilearn statewide testing continues next week for all Willowcreek students on Tuesday, and Thursday. Students must have their IPADs fully charged. Please be sure that your child arrives at school - on time -each day after a good night’s sleep. Students should eat a good breakfast at home or purchase one here in the cafeteria.

An exciting opportunity for girls in grades 6-9 is being offered: She Can Tech is a Computer Science Camp for girls. It will be held May 13-30 from 4-6pm at PHS-W. The cost is $15. If you missed the informational meeting here at Willowcreek, there will be a parent-daughter night on April 30 from 5-7 at PHS-W. Don’t miss out! Registration ends May 8.
